I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. Unlike some of the previous Star Trek movies that were created more for a Trekkie audience I found this one to have much more depth. You don't have to be a Star Trek devotee to enjoy it, which means you stand a much better chance of getting wives, girl friends, or friends to go to it.
Like other reviewer have already said, this Star Trek has much more in the way of character development and back story of the crew of the Enterprise that really make the story fly (sorry, no pun intended).
The only complaint I had is a couple of things in the climax of the movie seemed contrived. I won't be a spoiler and tell what they were, though. Other than that, I recommend it highly and might even go see it again.
