Angels and Demons was disappointing. While it was not a direct plot transfer from the book, I would forgive that--hardly any movies are true to the source anymore. However I found Angels and Demons to be lacking in another way: the story that the movie makers decided to tell was not better than the one in the original book. Changes made to streamline the story resulted instead in a less than interesting progression. This was supposed to be a thriller. It wouldn't even make a good travel film.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
