Dark doesn't equal bad.

I found it a great appropriation of the original children's story. It's dark at certain points, but foremost, I feel the original Wonderland story was a dark paradigm, but was simply sugar coated for a child's book. The movie also should have been named something different, because it's not truly the original story. It's sort of an "Alice returns to Wonderland story." If you're a Tim Burton fan, you'll really love this movie!! Visual effects were out-of-this-world!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Great cinematography, Denzel is awesome. Some action, Deep thinking on some levels, with a twist.
"People just had too much - experience a world with nothing."
