Fell far short of potential...

Sadly, Ron Howard really missed the mark with this movie. Although the book was not in any danger of winning literary awards, it was engaging, spellbinding, and entertaining, in a Dan Brown sort of way. Ron Howard chose to take the elements from the book that were most sensationalistic and cram them into the 2 hr 20 minute timeframe, which creates a movie that is choppy and filled with holes. If you have not read the book, you are left with unnecessary questions. Overall, this movie falls far short of its potential. It felt very forced, the characters were not developed well, and really missed the mark.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
