Disappointing at Worst, Mediocre at Best

The movie featured some of the stuff that the Transformers cult wanted to see - big freakin' robots in larger than life battle scenes. Unfortunately, the battle scenes that were the selling point of the movie are few and far between. Too much time is spent on crass humor and attempts to build up a plot that could be built and resolved in half the length. The Transformers that everyone loves and came to know in the first movie are largely absent for most of the film. The Transformers popular with purists have the spotlight stolen by unknown, newly created characters invented by Michael Bay. The next film needs to recover the simplicity and tone of the first one, and leave behind the unnecessary twists, turns and silliness of this one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
