The "Star Wars" of It's Time

This is the one that will spawn a whole new generation of fans and clubs and linguistic studies. James Cameron has obviously borrowed (and heavily) from the great storytellers including Tolkien, Blake, Lucas, Bradbury, Clark, Kubrick, etc. However, he has remarkably made this his own.
Yes, the plot is "predictable". So what's wrong with a movie that leaves you feeling this good? It takes you to a place that you want to visit again as soon as the closing credits begin. The five stars next to the title are from average movie goers, not film critics. That should tell you all you need to know. DO see it on an Imax 3-D screen if you can.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Wanted to Hate it But...

Having grown up with the original series, I was hoping for more Shatneresque mannerisms by Chris Pine, but he did kind of arrive there at the end. I thought Karl Urban's "Bones" was spot on. He stole some scenes. Simon Pegg was hilarious and awesome as usual. John Cho's Zulu was baddass. Zoe Saldana as Uhura was very watchable. She brought a classy touch to the role and of course her body is smokin'. A Star Geek's dream.
J.J. Abrams gets two thumbs up. I gave this movie four stars for now, but over time I'll probably add that fifth star for sentimental reasons. And - if i see this movie a dozen more times, I'll probably pick up on a hundred things I missed in the first viewing.
Run, don't walk to see this one.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
