Wouldn't go out of my way to see in theatre

I was not completely disappointed, nor was I totally gaga about this film. It moved at a fast clip, it's slick and the effects were good. However, the plot device to put all these cadets and new Starfleet grads onto the Enterprise put a damper on things for me. Are we really to believe that there were no senior officers beyond Capt. Pike on the bridge of Enterprise? Everyone is fresh out of the academy, with only Spock seeming to have any seniority? Ridiculous!
Good performances and hooray for key Trek phrases ("Fascinating," "I'm a doctor, not a X," or "Are you out of your Vulcan mind?").
I could have waited 'til it came out on DVD - but it was a birthday night out for my husband, who really wanted to see it.
