Interesting, but falls short

I enjoy watching Tim Burton and Johnny Depp together. They bring a very different view of stories that we thought we knew as children. They have brought a new vision of Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass which is interesting.
The unfortunate part of their vision is that it seems worn. It felt a bit plain. It was so Burton-esque that it was actually a victim of the formula. We have seen Burton do this before, and he didn't bring anything fresh. If you are a Burton and Johnny fan, watch it and enjoy it. Just keep in mind, you will be left wanting a bit more. For those who have not seen Burton and Johnny together before, you will probably enjoy it much more.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
