It feels good to be a Trek fan again.

This movie came with high expectations, and fulfilled them all. The casting was spot on, the writing was excellent, and even the unashamed fan service was smoothly integrated with the story.
I missed out on IMAX the first time I went to see the movie, and loved it enough to come back for it. Sitting in the front row, the foreshortening made everyone's chins look like Bruce Campbell's. I was very impressed with the injury makeup continuity, which movies are often terrible at. Even in the last scenes, Kirk (and Sulu) still had scars from earlier scenes, including around his mouth from the first bar fight. If they keep this up he's gonna be pretty grizzled within a few movies.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
