For trekkies, the best part is the back-story at the beginning. I found myself smiling as the various characters I have known so many years were introduced -- to us and to each other. Very young, but clearly about to grow up and become the individuals we consider our friends. Like the first years of "Smallville."
Yes, I recommend this movie.
