The Cinematography was excellent. The actors were all near perfect except for one. Simon Pegg's portrayal of Montgomery Scott was hideous. Pegg turns the character into a page out of Monty Python.
I was disappointed with the story. In Star Trek lore the Vulcans have always been both a pain in the rear, and the closests and strongest allies we have. To destroy the Vulcan planet is to destroy 40% of the Star Trek legacy.
I am tired of the "go back in time and change everything" threat. Where we the Time Police to help in this movie? They could have fixed this by having one of them arrange the meeting between Kirk and the older Spock. This meeting left to chance was outrageosly contrived.
