I've been a Trek fan most of my life. I like this movie and hope to see more. The action and background of the characters was enlightening and entertaining but, I fear the writers pulling away from the original series may leave most of us original Trekies out of the fold. They could have easily brought the story line back to the pre-original Kirk and Spock years before we first saw them and explained more of their history. When did technology jump to post Voyager years? Even though they are rewriting Star Trek history I'm glad they kept the original characters and I'm looking forward to more Treking through space. They still owe us 3 more seasons of Star Trek Enterprise. I feel cheated.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
