I am a Trekker. I grew up on cheesy morality soaked low budget TV shows. I followed TNG from beginning to end. After awhile, I got mad at Rick Berman. He was loosing touch. That was evident in the final DS9.
J.J. Abrams....Fine job. The only slow part of the movie was the title sequence. I watched it in IMAX, and will never watch a movie in a normal movie theater again. Action packed through and through. Fresh acting, but true to the franchise. The CGI was the best I've seen, even BETTER than Star Wars. My only complaint is that Captain Pike in TOS always said 'Engage' to give the order to warp speed. But I'm picky that way. ;-)
