The "alternate time line" part of ST will leave a few die-hard trekkies less than pleased, but to me the characterizations were my focus. In short, the actors ALL nailed their roles. When the young "Bones" feferred to a departing Spock as "a green blooded Hobgoblin", I could hear Deforest Kelly saying vertually the same line. Young Chekov's difficulty with English had me rolling in the Isle. The only disappointment for me was Uhura. She just wasn't Nichell Nichols. Chris Pines cocky, arrogant "Kirk" was dead on. The action and effects were top notch. Good show...
Yes, I recommend this movie.
