I had watched Star Trek when it was prime time and have seen every variant series and all the movies as well. I, along with many, had concerns as to whether they would hold to the true image of the story line created by Gene Rodenberry. I was NOT disappointed… the characters mostly held true and the story line went beyond my expectations. I have to say that the change in the timeline means that all of the future series will never happen… causing the only disappointment I had with the whole film… oh and the dumping of the core? Um, correct me if I’m wrong, but that would have left them with out warp drive… the moment they lost warp, they would have instantly been sucked into the black hole…!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
