I have followed Star Trek since television of the '60's and found this movie true to the spirit of the originals. Enjoyed every minute. I understand the need not to disrupt the current history of Star Trek so killing off Spock's mother and Vulcan was a bit of a stretch. If there is a sequel in the mix perhaps they could go back to the original pilot with now Admiral Pike and his outcome. Well done. Roddenberry would have approved
