Great movie but troubled

I want to start by stating, the movie had great acting and the effects were just as impressive. However, I don't know if I'm the only one, but without giving too much away, the idea of turning 40 years of Star Trek lore on its head is disturbing to me. The story was great, the idea of alternate universes and timelines is not new in the sci-fi genre, but the turns taken in this movie, to me go against what is accepted Star Trek mythology. Go see this movie but if you're a Trekker or even the casual fan just be prepared.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
