Overall this movie is very good. i will go see it again in the theater. Seeing this movie in 3D is a MUST. The technology they used is by far better than any 3D movie i saw before. The computer animation was the best i have seen as well. There are 2 parts to this movie. The storyline and the technology to make the movie. Technology is 6 out of 5 stars but the storyline is 4 out of 5 stars. the storyline was better than i thought it would be. It could have been better, but it is good. my review title kind of describes the storyline. Both parts of the movie have been meshed so skillfully. Even though this movie is 2 hours and 40 minutes, i found myself immersed in the story without being distracted by the technology.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I really enjoyed this movie. Not necessarily because it was "Star Trek" but because this is a well made Movie. If you are looking for something that religiously follows the old Star Trek MO, then you will be disappointed. Do not see this movie if your expecting the same old Star Trek. This is a variation upon the original Star Trek. By itself this is a good movie. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is because there were a few unexplained plot twist left unanswered, not to mention how they explained how the whole story line was able to happen.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
