Great movie, but fails nerd test

This movie had excellent battle scenes and great ship special effects. It also was a pretty clean movie with minimal cuss words and no nudity, which holds with the style of a great star trek movie. it however does not have the good pseudo-science that star trek is famous for. They introduce something called "Red - matter" in the movie. After watching it the science behind it and even its very name is pretty horrible science. The main plot line that sets everything in motion was lacking and unbelievable based on that it fails the fan nerd-test. However the actors are pretty good and the story line behind the characters is pretty good as well. if it went for the bad pseudo-science and main plot it would easily be a 5 star movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
