JJ Abrams did well with the effort of back-story to the characters which helped to make sure this installment wasn't simply Star Trek 11. Excellent choices with Sulu, Checkov, Ohura, Bones and Scotty while capturing Spock and Kirk very well. Would die-hard Trekkies love this film? Probably not due to some slight specifics, but go see it, I would see it again and buy the DVD, for JJ Abrams reminds us this is a fun storyline, iconic characters in a film franchise that still has so much potential.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
