I've seen most of the previous Star Trek movies and enjoyed most of them, others not so much. This movie blows them all away! And it literally wipes the slate clean for hopefully more stories in the future. You don't just get introduced to the main characters and wonder, "OK, who is that?" There just enough intro to their back stories to make them real. And they act and respond like real people. There's a peppering of light moments that were appropriate and didn't come off as cheesy like Star War had a habit. A word to the hardcore trekkies, get it a chance, it's a brand spanking new chance at a whole new universe!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
