Being a fan of the original "Tron" I was eagerly awaiting this sequel. Seeing it in IMAX 3D did not disappoint relative to the special effects. The effects were rather spectacular. The only points off I would give on the FX are for the "darkness" of all the CGI scenery. Certainly not the colors of "Avatar". However, if *you* were to render the internals of a world of computer programs, how would you do it? They did actually use real computer terminology in this movie, so kudos to that. Although visually stunning, the story was quite similar to the original. Good programs vs. bad programs, with the intervention of "users". I've read some reviews that complained about the trite dialog. Hell, this is science fiction, not Shakespeare! All in all, it's not the perfect movie, but it is visually exciting, and worth some good sci-fi entertainment.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not a great movie by any means, but entertaining nonetheless. Johnny Depp is good in pretty much anything he does. Lewis Carroll's characters are all there, and the story is presented in a visually entertaining fashion. Although rated PG, I wouldn't recommend this movie for smaller children. It would definitely scare them.
Eye-popping 3D. Visually stunning. Fantastic audio. There is nothing unique about the theme of this story. I'm sure Cameron knows that it isn't necessarily the type of story that's told; it's *how* it is told. He had the formula correct on this one. After the first 15 or 20 minutes that introduces you to the characters and the setting, it grabs you and never lets go until the ending credits.
