As a fan of the original, I really enjoyed it. They really did a really good job of casting for "Spock". I thought he looked very much like a very young Nemoy. It was interesting how key roles were very close to their original in traits and expressions. My wife was not a big fan of Trek, so most of the nuances were lost to her, and that's too bad. This should start a whole new "generation" of Trek fans. I just hope they dont try remake the old episodes.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
