Somewhat contrived, but entertaining

An interesting reboot of Star Trek and a masterful job of casting (the strength of the movie). The story line was very contrived to deliver a new start on the series. Characters were not developed and the second teir characters remained undeveloped, evidently depending on the familiarity from the previous series. But in the end it is an opportunity to take a different direction for the series without all the expectations from the past.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
