I thought this was great. I didn't really follow Star Trek when it first came out, but have seen most of the shows (to the original series only) and all the movies.
When I first saw a trailer of this almost a year ago, my first thought was "this movie is going to make a lot of money!" I think it will! Good story line, many surprises, and the lines from the original series all came at good times resulting in a wondeful way of combining this movie with the original series. I don't watch much TV so I hadn't seen either of the two young actors before, but the actor that played Spock was great.
I plan to see it again.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
