In my opinion, this is a great addition to the series because, in addition to examining and further developing the all important relationship between Harry, Hermione and Ron, it sets up events that will lead to the final outcome. There is some excitement at the beginning, but the character driven screenplay, direction and acting are what put this at the top of the franchise. A must see for us Harry Potter fans. I plan on going to see this one again.
Any presentation in 3D IMAX is amazing so I'll just rate the movie. "Dragon" is fun to watch. It's a "feel good" movie with very cute characters and a unique story. Loved the 3D animation, especially the flying sequences. I would bring anyone of any age to see it. And gee, being half-Viking myself, I wish I had a dragon.
See the Review Title? Yes. Nine times. It's fresh each time. I continue to wonder at the tech that produced this movie. It's beautiful, believable, exciting. I'm placed inside the story, leaving the theater thinking maybe good really can triumph over evil. I'm always amazed that both the Na'vi and Eywa (Pandora) seem so real. Am I in a dream? In this movie, I am. Thank you so much, James Cameron, for giving us the gift of a glimpse into your dream, your imagination.
I want to see at least it four more tmes. Avatar is my first experience with a 3D movie and I'm thrilled that I now have a local IMAX theater. In addition to the many powerful, thought provoking political statements, Avatar is the most visually, stunningly beautiful movie I've ever seen. The movie soundtrack is fabulous. Most of all, I fell in love with Pandora, the Na-Vi, and Jake Sully. Need I say more?
Michael Moore has targeted the fraud on Wall Street, which has affected all of us, in this very informative film. My hope is that we all begin paying attention and do something. Feared most on Wall Street is "One person, one vote". We must become informed, engaged and activated. Maybe this film will make that happen.
As those who've read the books know, as the series progressed, the storyline became much darker, more mature. In this series installment the character development is central and begins to expose much more detail making this storyline the best so far. Rupert Grint's Ron Weasley gave much needed comic relief as the much more serious plot sets many events in motion which makes me impatient to see the last movies of this series. Brilliant!
It's difficult to review this movie without spoilers but I'll try. In short, the direction was great, kept true to original characters. Chris Pine was a good Kirk but Karl Urban nails McCoy. Some storyline may be disagreeable with us oldie Trekkers (Uhura is case in point) but keep in mind these are "youngsters" just starting their careers. Good action, humorous scenes, plot opens up a whole different direction that Star Trek will take. Let's see what they do with it. All in all, a great intro to the new Trek. Looking forward to more.
