I thought I was going to see a prequel of the famous Star Trek TV series. Instead the writers have found a way to make this a whole new experience and plot that does not take anything away from the original story. But it leaves it wide open for its own birth and life. Absolutely brilliant!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
