The New Old Trek

I've always been a fan of the original series. It's strengths have always been it's campy politically incorrect vibe. That's now been updated to a bit more trendy look, nonstop action and great almost sensory overload FX.
Trek fans are the most shrewd movie nitpickers around. I tend to be one of those that fall into that category. There were only 3 things that bothered me a bit about the movie. Chekov's casting, how too convenient to the plot Spock gives up command to Kirk and this essentially wipes the slate clean for the original generation in an alternate reality universe. None of that effected my overall enjoyment of the movie though.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
