action and humor were very good. the beginning of the story was good but the destruction of vulcan and spock's mother's death changed too much of star trek history. they could have accomplished everything for the plot to work without trying so hard to change the foundational history of the key non-human world, vulcan. change just for changes sake is not always good. maybe they attract some new fans but could annoy away their base. ask john mccain how that works!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
