Is it possible to enhance a phenomenon such as Star Trek? After witnessing this Herculean film, the answer is vigorously YES.
From the beginning scene, you are pulled into the picture by the breathtaking visuals, action & drama backed by a soaring score.
Not only are the new faces believable in the familiar roles, but they are likeable.
Zachary Quinto gets kudos for his portrayal of Spock, torn between his human & his Vulcan sides. Chris Pine is a believable version of a young Kirk, while Karl Urban's performance as Dr. McCoy is spot-on.
This film is stunning to watch. I saw it in IMAX and it was worth every penny. Did it enhance the Star Trek universe as envisioned by Gene Roddenberry? Absolutely. And I think he would be proud.
