Muddy Attempt at Re-imagined Classic Trek

The Star Trek re-boot doesn't make warp speed weighed down with a mediocre script. Chris Pine's performance as Captain James T. Kirk is full of the over the top notes that come with trying way too hard. Zoe Saldana cutes it up in a way that is so far from the classy elegance and slow burning sensuality of Nichelle Nichols portrayal of Lt. Uhura. Zachary Quinto does not do enough to breathe life into this new, obnoxious version of Spock.
I grew up enthralled with Classic Star Trek, and I was disappointed. I am still hopeful for Abrams' future ressurrection of the great Star Trek franchise.
