Fun, but nothing more

While Star Trek was an enjoyable adventure, and the beginning portion of the movie was a fun foray into each characters' history, the movie ultimately ends up being pretty brainless.
Instead of following the characters and their struggles intimately, highlighting their ingenuity, the movie seems to do everything it can to "reboot" the series as quickly as possible.
Convoluted character introductions and too many convenient coincidences really destroy the suspension of disbelief.

The action sequences are fun, but if you expect the story to be inspired or make any sense, look elsewhere. This is not a movie for "thinkers". Thinking too hard will limit your enjoyment, which is unfortunate.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
