I've been a long time Trekkie and I have really enjoyed the franchise. That said, this movie disappointed me. I am tired of the “Time Travel” revisionist tricks which allows writers an “easy out” of redoing “history.”
I feel like this movie negated a great deal of the lore of classic Star Trek.
Why couldn’t the writers come up with something new? Why did they feel like they had to go and monkey with the established? With a rich, detailed universe of Star Trek material to draw from, they chose to go and rewrite the beginning?
Perhaps I am a purist, perhaps I am a rule follower, but I did not enjoy the plot of this story or what it was trying to do.
