I don't know if I'm a "die hard" Trekkie but I've been watching since the re-runs of the original series when I was growing up. There's much to like in this movie, in that they stayed true to the characters, from Kirk's brashness and arrogance, despite which he seems to do the right thing more often than not, to Bones' uncharacteristic fear in the face of danger for someone traveling on a starship, and Spock's unflinching logic (except for that schoolyard episode). The plot device of time travel proved itself once again, this time allowing things to turn out just a bit differently and keep us in suspense as to how things would turn out in this alternate reality. Overall I definitely recommend the movie for Trekkies and non-Trekkies alike.
