Excellent Movie

One of the best movies I have seen in many years. It's uplifting themes do not overshadow the message of inner city violence and drug problems. The acting was excellent by all the main characters.

As a lukewarm Star Trek fan, I went expecting to be somewhat disappointed with an over done remake of the original series. Was I ever wrong!! The characters were true to their predecessors, but still original and very likable. The story line was a little typical and not of the quality of the original series, but it was interesting enough to carry the true intent of the picture which was to prequel the characters and their introductions to each other.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
