Having never watched an episode of the Star Trek series myself, I wasn't sure as to whether I would enjoy the move or even understand it. But I have to say I am completely glad I watched it. It is a phenomenal movie experience and the characters are beautifully portrayed. Go see it!! Especially for Spock! He is absolutely the best character of the series and furthermore is wonderfully portrayed within this movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
