It was a wild ride, no doubt. Almost manic. Never a dull moment from the opening scene. If one opens one mind and heart to the proposed youth of our beloved, ionic characters and the actors who portray them, this movie can be loved even by original Trekkies. It is a decent story. Though after the rush and excitement of seeing our beloved characters and having Star Trek on the screen again resides, one realizes much of the story tends toward the cliche and done before. It is all action and none of the philosophy that made Star Trek so rich, but it is true to the urgency of youth. For an old time original Trekkie like me, it was a wonderful story once. I hope the sequel will have a more intellectual depth mixed into the action.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
