an absolute mess of a movie. It wastes the first 40 minutes introducing the characters. The plot was lame and the writing was terrible. JJ Abrams gloats that he knew nothing about Star Trek before he made this movie. Maybe it would have helped to pick a director who appreciates what Star Trek means. You can reboot a franchise (i.e. Batman) and make it fun and take it in a new direction. The actors who played Kirk and Spock were dead on perfect. Its the script and the director that failed this franchise. A completely boring and uninspiring movie.
No, I do not recommend this movie.
