Overall, the film was entertaining. I miss Catherine's edginess and handling of Meyer's clunky material.
Don't doubt that you will laugh and have a good time, but it won't make sense to those who haven't bought into the series and seen the first movie... may seem akward to those who have. It is beautfifully filmed, but not enough was done to make it effective as a stand alone film or to make it flow evenly. It could be the editing or what they choose to exclude or not plot wise, sacrafices have to be made, but perhaps not enough were made to ensure a good movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
