Overall, I thought the new "Star Trek" was great. It took characters we are already very attached to and re-introduced them in a very respectful and exciting way.
- There were some great, detailed nods to the original series.
- Because of the emotional drama of the opening conflict, this big ole Southern boy had tears welling up in his eyes in the first five minutes.
- Actors did a nice job mimicking the classic actors while making these characters their own. More Bones! More Scotty!
- Great Sci-fi story.
- Not sure what Trekkors will think about the "reboot," though. I'm torn myself.
Totally worth the $10 I spent. I might go see it again. It will surely be the first "Trek" movie in my extensive DVD collection.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
