I also saw this opening night. My family are huge trek fans so we had to see it, sadly the biggest trek fan (my dad) could not come as he was out of town but we loved it so much we are seeing it again in the IMAX on Sunday with him. The cast was a perfect choice and stayed true to the original members. I particularly loved BONES he hit it right on the nail even tho, he had some big shoes to fill. The story linked amazingly to the original with its own new feel. And of course amazing special effects even my mother thought was spectacular. In short one of they best movies of the summer if not "The best".
Yes, I recommend this movie.
