Star Trek at the IMAX

The movie was awesome! The theatre was another story. AMC advertised as an IMAX Movie, but when you arrive there, there is nothing IMAX about it. I was expecting the standard IMAX screen of 72 feet wide and 53 feet high, or larger. The Screen looked to be the standard size. When I complained to management, they said it was an “IMAX Theater”, meaning IMAX sound and IMAX picture quality. I didn’t know that there was a difference. The picture and sound seemed like any other movie theater. I paid extra for the tickets and waited in line for an hour and a half. Even with my disappointment with the IMAX Screen and the wait, the movie was well worth it. If you want to see true “IMAX” movies go to the Smithsonian.
