I think Jamie Foxx is a great actor who should probably stick to that and close his mouth outside of anything else, would hate to see a skilled actor like this get turned on due to stupid racist comments. Robert Downey Jr. is an actor that I have rooted for his comeback. This movie did not blow my socks off, but bringing the issue of homelessness in america and mental illness to the masses in order to create an understanding of that is an important message so for that I give it a GOOD rating, but too many things going on in sub plots such as RDjrs divorce, failing newspaper, etc., save it for a matinee
Don't even waste your time renting this movie. This is the worst of the Seth Rogan movies that have come out recently. Seth is a funny guy but Cheech and Chong movies are funnier than his pot and drug movies lately.
Thats about all I can say about this movie, it was funny, but not great. I liked the stars in the movie so I gave it a GOOD rating of 4 stars, but like Will Ferrell movies this type of movie is getting old quickly, just like observe and report which really stunk it up, nothing funny about that movie and they are risking losing audience at this point with churning out movies that just are not that funny anymore. I like Paul Rudd and he should be in some better movies.
Folks I am that rare guy that will go to these movies with my wife, and I was hoping to enjoy it. It's not the worst movie, but some movies are just better on DVD. Of course we had all the little girls around us texting and talking so that didn't help, but to me this movie didn't have the chemistry between the stars. I like both stars of this movie, and the way they wrote the guys character you probably need a guy like mcconaughey, and would have to be somebody to compare to the looks of jennifer garner, but it just seemed forced. She's done this movie before "13 going on 30" but now she is in the other role of the love interest, so felt very much the same, glad to see michael douglas in something again though.
