I TOTALLY enjoyed every minute of this movie. There was constantly something going on. One does NOT have to have seen any of the Star Trek movies to enjoy - I certainly have not seen all previous movies. Only a sliver of Star Trek knowledge is helpful. I think anyone, over 13 will enjoy this movie, male AND female. It was not completely serious nor too comedic. And it definitely was NOT over-the-top science-fiction oriented.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
