Excellent characters

In the days when special effects seem to dominate movies, Star Trek invested a lot of time and energy in character development. That is why this movie works so well. These are not parodies of Spock, Kirk, Checkov, Sulu and Urhura - the acting is consistent with what we would assume the original characters were like when they were younger. Bones, however, seems to be an over the top parody - but it still works - very well
Yes, I recommend this movie.
