This movie has Tim Burton written all over it. The visual effects were incredible and made me think that Wonderland was someplace real. Helena Bonham Carter was wonderful as the Red Queen and Johnny Depp's Mad Hatter was a delight. The story kept to the original Alice in Wonderland, even managing to add in the poem "Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gire and gimble in the wabes." Brilliantly done.
One of the most incredible movie experiences ever!

Although the movie plot is basically the same as "Dances with Wolves" and any other that "discovered" the Native Americans were actually real people, this movie was the best of them all. Being part Lakota myself, that's saying something.
The special effects were so well done that the interaction between reality and CGI was almost seamless. After a while it was difficult to remember what was real and what wasn't.
The mix of the planet Pandora's flora with Earth's rainforests and tropical ocean animals (jellyfish, coral polyps, bioluminescence) was astounding.
I saw this movie in IMAX 3D twice and drove 2 hours each way to see it both times. It was more than worth the drive.
