It's a bit like Pulp Fiction in 1942. There's lots of dialogue building up to conundrum moments interspersed with violence. Overall, a good movie. Not great but definitely not bad.
Great action movie. The portrayal of the of the human element with greed and evil was very well done. The special effects are excellent, and there is an intermittent documentary-style narration that was neat but not with that guy-running-around-with-camera stuff that other action movies have used.
...And none of that "the good guy wins" garbage you'll find in other movies. The good guy is a lie; there is no cake.
It's NOT a kids movie. Okay, you can take your kids to it, but this isn't Shrek. There is no place for humor in this movie. This movie is all about a hostile invasion, it manages to show (in PG fashion): A coup d'etat Glorious death Bombing of city Abductions Brief torture of a robot Venting live people & aliens into space ect.
