Excellent reimagining of the original series characters without the feeling of a retread. Opens up the series for a new generation of stories based upon the Star Trek characters many of us grew up with. While using the basic foundation laid out by Gene Roddenberry, it is clearly a stand-alone product that has a strong potential to entertain a new generation of Trekkers and Trekkies with new stories for years to come!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
