Excellent story and characters. McCoy is a Doctor and not a <fill in the blank>. Spock is his eternally conflicted self. Kirk is a smart aleck kid who, most annoyingly, really knows his stuff.
Will this alternate timeline ever meet with the original?
Yes, I recommend this movie.
