I hated the original star trek. I hated it basically because of Captain Kirk (the overactor). I was happy to see the new Kirk and his acting skills are phenominal as is the rest of the cast. They cast each role extremely well and, according to my Trekkie hubby, they stayed with the original storyline. I saw it for free (through an advanced screening) and thought it was so good I paid to see it again with friends a few days later. WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
